It was awesome cause both defense tech and cannon tech were still in development and most people who built cannons kept things secret so you had factions or groups of factions going against each other with custom built potentially never before seen tech and it just made things way more interesting

2012-2015 was Vortex Factions in it's prime, shit was so good then

This was factions at its best IMO. If Vortex did a server like this I would definitely play again. ...maybe I'll go work on another proposal lmao!

Seriously, factions at that time was some of the most fun I've had playing games online ever. I would love for things to go back to times like those. Pretty sure my factions nostalgia thread would still be viable with some minor tweaks to better reflect the game today...
